A recent one: a village church in Charnwood
The problem
The church's solar had stopped generating. The panels are on the roof, and the three inverters sit on the wall in the bell tower.
What we found
One of the three inverters had failed, and an RCD protecting the system was faulty.
What we did
We isolated the failed inverter and replaced the faulty RCD while we were there. A replacement inverter is the next step.

Will you repair a system you didn't fit?
Yes. A lot of our repair work is on systems from other installers, some of whom are no longer trading.
What does a repair visit cost?
We'll tell you the price of the diagnostic visit before we come out, so there are no surprises. Send us a photo of the inverter first and we can often tell you what we're likely to find.
Should I repair or replace my inverter?
It depends on the fault and the age of the unit. Often a new inverter is the sensible fix, and it's a good moment to consider adding a battery.
How often should solar panels be cleaned?
Not very often. The rain does most of the work, so for most roofs a clean every year or two is plenty. Do it sooner if you're under trees, near a farm or a busy road, or the birds have taken a liking to your roof. Use soft water and a soft brush, never a pressure washer, and please don't go up a ladder to do it. If your generation has dropped a lot, it's rarely just dirt, so get in touch and we'll take a look.
