Why businesses go solar

We'll give you honest figures based on your real usage, not a brochure.

You use it when it's made

Businesses use most of their power in the daytime, when the panels are working hardest. That means more of the solar gets used on site.

Fix part of your energy cost

Every unit you make is one you don't buy at today's prices, or tomorrow's. Your accountant may also be able to claim it against tax.

Charge the vans and the cars

Run your fleet and staff chargers from your own roof, with the Workplace Charging Scheme grant claimed for you.

Something to show customers

A roof full of panels says plenty about a business. Customers notice, and so do tenders asking about carbon.

no surprises

How a commercial job runs

1

Site visit

We look at the roof, the supply and the incoming board, and ask for a year of bills or half-hourly data if you have it.

2

Design and figures

The roof modelled in 3D with its real shading, sized to how your building actually uses power, with a clear price and honest figures.

3

The paperwork

We apply to the network operator (most commercial systems need G99 approval) and sort risk assessments and method statements for your site.

4

The install

Apollo put up a proper scaffold, then we fit around your opening hours. We agree the programme and any switch-over times with you first.

5

Handover

Full test certificates on every job, an MCS certificate on systems of 50 kW or under, monitoring set up for whoever needs it, and a proper walk-through for your team.

Questions people ask us

Do we need planning permission?

Usually not for panels on a commercial roof, but listed buildings and conservation areas are different. We check yours before we quote.

Will we have to close while you fit it?

You shouldn't need to. Most of the work happens on the roof, and we agree any short power switch-overs with you in advance, early or out of hours if needed.

How long does the DNO take?

Larger systems need G99 approval from the network operator, which can take several weeks. We apply early and keep you updated.

Can solar go against tax?

Often, yes. Solar can qualify for capital allowances. Your accountant will confirm what applies to your business.

Our roof is asbestos cement or fragile. Can you still do it?

Sometimes. We'll look at it properly at the site visit and tell you honestly what's possible and safe.

Want the numbers for your building?

Send us a year of bills and we'll tell you honestly whether solar stacks up. Free, and no pressure.
