Ashley Farm Shop

Farm shop · 56.7 kWp + battery · September 2024

What was there

A working farm and farm shop near Market Harborough, with a large barn roof.

What we did

In September 2024 we fitted 56.7 kWp of panels across the barn roof, with SolarEdge inverters and optimisers, and a battery to carry the day's sun into the evening. The farm carried on working around us.

How it's doing

Two years on, it's still doing its job every day. In the 12 months to 30 September 2026, the new panels and the farm's older solar array together made 64.0 MWh, and solar covered 52% of the electricity the site used.

Figures from the system's own monitoring. The 12 months are 1 October 2025 to 30 September 2026 and include the farm's older solar array, which is read by the same meter. The CO₂ figure was read on 2 October 2026.
